POLICE are appealing for witnesses after reports that two men beat a Staffordshire bull terrier on a Timperley street earlier today.

Officers received calls that two men had been seen hitting a fawn-coloured Staffordshire bull terrier on Carrfield Avenue at around 10am on Friday May 12.

When police arrived at the scene, the men and dog had gone.

The men are described as around 25 years of age, wearing tracksuits, and appeared to be under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
