PRIMARY school teachers Laura Horsefield and Clare Cartmell have launched an art club for children in Timperley Village.
Laura and Clare cater for primary school children aged between five and 11 at Glitter-Arty.
Classes are held at Timperley Methodist Church, Stockport Road, once a month on a Saturday afternoon, but they have plans to do it every week and in different locations.
Laura said: "We set up the art club to promote and inspire a love for creativity.
"Art is no longer seen as an 'important' subject in many schools but we disagree wholeheartedly.
"Art and creativity is so important for young, healthy minds. It boosts their confidence and self-esteem and is a therapeutic activity which not only develops skills but also lets them be an individual. We believe that every child is an artist.
"Each session either has a theme or has an artist focus. The children learn lots and more importantly get to take their masterpieces home beaming with pride."
For more information and dates and times of the sessions please like Glitter-Arty's Facebook page. It costs £10 per session.
