THE Village Osteopaths in Timperley raised £503 at a recent fundraiser to celebrate its third birthday.

The fundraiser was in aid of F.O.R.M.E. – the Fund for Osteopathic Research into Myalgic Encephalomyelitis (ME) and Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS).

This is the fourth fundraiser the Timperley Village clinic has held and this event raised more money than any of the previous ones.

There was an extensive bake sale on the day.

There was huge interest in the raffle with donations made from a great number of local businesses such as Corks Out Timperley, Riddles Bar, Rope and Anchor and The Old Hall as well as businesses from afar such as the Bulkeley Hotel in Anglesey who donated a night’s bed and breakfast.

Sean Bourke, clinic director, said: ‘We would like to thank everyone who helped us reach the £503 – from all our friends and family who helped on the day, to everyone who donated to the raffle – and congratulations to all our winners.

“And, of course, every one of our patients and members of our local community who donated to our worthy cause and made it our most successful fundraising event yet.

"The money will be used to help further osteopathic research in to ME/CFS with potentially more groundwork for further research after the back of a successful NHS trial.”

Tina Rushton, chairman of F.O.R.M.E. said: “Thanks to the wonderful efforts of The Village Osteopaths and their customers’ generosity in raising £503 at their third birthday celebrations in aid of F.O.R.M.E.

“We are now a step closer to funding a possible pilot study into the efficacy of the osteopathy-based ‘Perrin Technique’ compared with the treatment currently offered by the NHS.

“The support of Collette, Sean and everybody at The Village Osteopaths is very welcome and we wish them every success for the future.”
