AN appeal has been launched to raise £50,000 for specialist treatment in Germany for a cancer-stricken mum from Timperley.

Alison Rolfe, aged 50, was diagnosed with small bowel cancer in October last year.

Since diagnosis she has undergone chemotherapy and two major operations.

Alison was initially given the all-clear after the second operation but four days later was told the cancer was still present.

Alison is now due to start another course of chemotherapy.

But she believes her best hope of a cure is a clinic in Germany which offers specialist treatment.

She needs to raise £50,000 for the assessment, travel and to start treatment.

Family friend, Alexander Young, appealed for people to support her: "This clinic is her lifeline.

"She is the loveliest person, she is always there for everybody, and always has s smile on her face.

"She lights up a room just by being there.

"She is a beautiful person and a pleasure to be with.

"Please give her the best chance she can have."

Alison, a sales administrator, is married to Darren, 50, and the couple have two children – 24-year-old Liam and Chelsea, 20.
