A TIMPERLEY family has raised funds for a children's hospital, by turning its garden into a spooky zone.
The Harrison family 'decorates' its garden, on Frieston Road, with ghouls, skeletons and headstones for Halloween.
They put a collection box outside for passers-by to make a contribution to Alder Hey Children's Hospital - and their efforts raised £300, double the amount contributed last year.
Martin Harrison said: "We get plenty of footfall, being opposite a primary school and on a busy commuting route near the Met station.
"We have a special connection with the charity. My son George, now 16, had a pacemaker fitted for a heart condition and he and my wife Sarah stayed at Alder Hey several years ago."
He added: "We'd like to thank very very much all those who have donated and supported this charity."
