TIMPERLEY will be lit up this Christmas thanks to the generosity of residents and businesses.
Following Trafford Council’s GIFT it for Christmas Campaign, residents and business have taken up the challenge and raised the money to supply Christmas lights for the town centre.
A festive spectacular event 'Timperley Welcomes Christmas' is to take place on November 25. The Mayor of Trafford, Cllr Judith Lloyd, will join residents and businesses from 6pm to sample the atmosphere of Timperley's festive wonderland.
Trafford singer Wayne Devlin will be providing entertainment as he joins in the celebrations.
The festivities will also include a choir leading community singing, as well as the re-running of last year’s popular festive trail competition.
The chairman of South Trafford Locality Partnership, Cllr Laura Evans, said: “A huge thank you to everyone who has kindly donated to the Christmas lights fund.
"Lighting up Timperley town centre helps bring the festive to the town and encourages people to enjoy the lights and all of the different retail and eateries available.”
