LONGFORD Park is celebrating its’ centenary this weekend, Saturday May 12 and Sunday May 13.
The Friends of Longford Park invite you to enjoy a weekend of activities in and around the park that includes something for everyone.
Attractions include belly dancing, a marching band and live music and theatre on the first day, with a bowls taster session and a performance from the Stretford Brass Band among the highlights on Sunday.
Children’s entertainment includes across the weekend includes a magician, sports coaching, and a drumming workshop.
A free exhibiton documenting the park’s history will be held in the athletics stadium and is open both days.
Saturday is 1912 Festival Day, with themes from each decade displayed and a DJ set celebrating the past 100 years in music.
The festivities start at 1pm both days, finishing at 9pm on Saturday and 5pm on Sunday.
