The eggs-citement mounts as the Eggs Factor comes to Stretford for Easter
9:10am Wednesday 4th April 2012 in Stretford
CHILDREN visiting Stretford Mall are in for an egg-citing time this Saturday thanks to a couple of quirky Easter characters.
A sleepy, forgetful, accordion playing Easter Bunny will be dropping in to the popular shopping centre on Chester Road where he will meet his friend, Miss Egg Timer - before leading families on a very special music-filled Easter Egg Hunt.
Actors from Bristol-based interactive theatre company, Bakehouse Factory, will perform interactive Easter Egg Hunts around the shopping centre on Saturday (April 7) from 11 am to 4 pm.
And according to Bakehouse Factory spokeswoman Hannah McGavin the event promises to be ‘eggs-hilarating’ fun for the whole family.
She said: “Our Easter Bunny forgets where he left his basket full of eggs so will lead children, ideally aged three to eight, and their families, on a musical filled egg hunt.
“The bunny, who dresses in tweeds and has big floppy ears, will be joined by his friends as they travel around Stretford Mall playing games and singing songs as they hunt for those special chocolate eggs.
“A particular favourite game of the Easter Bunny, Miss Egg Timer and their friends is the Eggs Factor which gives children, and a few mums and dads the chance to show off their musical talents.”
Hannah added: “It is all about having fun, solving riddles and singing and of course at the end of the hunt the children will find the eggs in a giant colourful basket and enjoy a final celebration with a song and dance.
“I would encourage everyone to come along and have a great time with all the children taking part getting to enjoy a nice chocolate egg.”
Colin McCrory, Stretford Mall manager, said the Easter Egg Hunts will be an event the whole family can enjoy.
He said: “We wanted to put together a real family event that was both interactive and fun and I believe the Bakehouse Factory actors will provide just that.
“The event will, I am sure, prove very popular with our customers and with each hunt lasting around half-an-hour there is plenty of time for children to enjoy lots of fun and games.
“Easter is a family time and I hope parents will bring their children along for what will undoubtedly be a great interactive and fun event.”
