MATCH goers and commuters to expect heavy traffic around Old Trafford tomorrow evening, as Old Trafford plays host to the quarter final of the UEFA Europa League Cup.

Manchester United takes on Anderlecht at Old Trafford on Thursday April 20, with kick-off at 8.05pm.

GMP’s match commander Graeme Openshaw, said: “Thursday sees what will be another great night of European football coming to Manchester as Manchester United host Anderlecht in the quarter final of the UEFA Europa League Cup.

“As with previous high profile European matches, Manchester City Centre and the Old Trafford area are expected to be extremely busy with fans travelling to and from the game.

“There will inevitably be some disruption to the city centre so I’m advising travellers and commuters to plan their journey in plenty of time and make suitable arrangements if they are affected by any delays or changes to journeys.

“Additional officers will be on patrol in the city and, as always, we will be working with partners to ensure fans enjoy the evening before, during and after the match. We’re looking forward to welcoming fans both from home and abroad and wish everyone a safe journey.”
