DO you have room in your heart (and home) for an animal sanctuary’s longest resident?

The Society for Abandoned Animals (SAA) is hoping that Cookie, who holds the title of its longest feline resident, will finally find her forever home.

The black and white moggy came to the charity after her owners’ children became allergic to her. She likes company but she is not a cuddly lap cat. She prefers to be playful and loves to chase toys.

Cookie needs a home without young children and doesn’t like other cats so needs to be on her own. She is around 18 months old and has no health issues.

Cookie’s fellow resident Angelo is also looking for a new home.

Angelo, who is all black, is around 10 years old and came to the sanctuary as his owners were moving abroad.

Angelo lived with his previous owners all of his life and so is finding the move “extremely scary”.

He was described as timid by his owners but does make friends eventually. He is in very good health for his age and has no medical issues.

As Angelo is a very nervous cat, he needs a quiet, calm home with adults only or children over the age of 12. Ideally, he would need a home with no dogs or other cats. SAA said that Angelo is struggling to show his true potential as he is unhappy at the moment.

If you would like to enquire about rehoming Cookie or Angelo, contact The Society for Abandoned Animals on 0161 973 5318 or office@saarescue.co.uk.

The charity, which straddles the Sale and Stretford border, is holding a Spring Fair is on Sunday April 23. Gates open at Mosley Acre Farm at 12pm and close at 4pm. There will be games, tombolas, raffles, stalls, refreshments, and tours of the sanctuary.
