Old Trafford-based audio branding specialist PHMG is aiming to donate a whopping £100,000 to charity this year - after smashing its target for 2016.

The company, under the banner of official charity the PHMG Foundation, donated £60,000 to a number of good causes last year after employees from across the globe threw themselves into a whole range of activities.

Staff raised £30,000 through a series of events - including a global Santa Dash, a tour of all 92 Football League grounds in 75 hours, and a Gladiator-esque assault course - which was then matched by an equivalent donation from the company.

Now they have been challenged to raise £50,000 in 2017, with the company once more matching this with an equivalent donation if the goal is reached.

“The level of employee generosity and enthusiasm during 2016’s fundraising campaign was incredible to watch,” said Chris Berisford, finance director at PHMG and PHMG Foundation trustee.

“Each year, it becomes more and more difficult to come up with new and interesting ways to raise money but our staff always seem to exceed themselves.

“With a new target of £50,000 – which will be matched once again by the company – and a host of exciting events in the pipeline for 2017, we plan to go one step further to make this year bigger and better than ever.”

Over the past four years, PHMG has taken part in 150 events to raise more than £150,000 for almost 50 different charitable organisations.

Donations in 2017 will go to charities around the globe, including the Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital, Elmy’s Special Society, St Clare Hospice and Toronto Human Society.
