POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a pedestrian was knocked down in Stretford during rush hour.

Emergency services scrambled to traffic lights at the gyratory, just off the Sale-bound carriageway of the A56, at around 6.15pm on Monday January 23.

A pedestrian had been hit by a car but luckily sustained only minor injuries.

The incident took place just yards away from where Susan Smythe, 59, was knocked down and killed back in September.

Anyone who saw what happened on Monday is asked to contact the police on 101 or email 15306@gmp.police.uk.
