STRETFORD Public Hall is holding its first public art exhibition showcasing the range and talent of a wealth of local artists as part of the venue's rebirth as a cultural centre, creative workspace and community hub, November 11 - 13.
Curated by Stretford Arts Collective (SAC) - a small group of artists and creators who share studio space in the building - the free-to-enter Art Weekender will be opened on Friday November 11 by DJ, producer and graphic artist 'Mr Scruff', while the non-for-profit exhibition element will include pieces from over 20 local artists, as well as the SAC resident artists themselves.
From an overwhelming and hugely diverse range of submissions, the work has been carefully handpicked by a panel of arts professionals and the resulting selection aims to showcase the eclectic creative talents from artists in Stretford and the surrounding areas.
Two special free opening nights are being held on Friday 11th, 6-9pm and Saturday 12th, 6-9pm, with complImentary drinks - capacity is strictly limited.
