X-FACTOR singing sensation Fleur East will be lighting up Trafford next week.

Fleur East has been revealed as the star chosen to turn on the Christmas lights at intu Trafford Centre this year.

The X-factor favourite will be doing the honours at the much-awaited annual Christmas Lights Switch On event on Thursday October 27.

She will also be headlining, performing her smash hit single, Sax, from her album Love, Sax and Flashbacks.

The event will start at 6.30pm, with Key 103’s, Mike Toolan warming up the audience alongside Coronation Street’s Kym Marsh.

Fleur East said: "I'm absolutely thrilled to be asked to turn on the intu Trafford Centre Christmas lights - I love Christmas and it's going to be a great evening. I can't wait to hit the stage."

Other acts to perform in The Orient will be revealed in the coming days.

Richard Paxton, general manager for intu Trafford Centre, said: “intu Trafford Centre’s Christmas Lights Switch On event is a night our shoppers look forward to every single year. Fleur East was the perfect choice for this year’s main act – she’s a great singer, great dancer and all-round entertainer.

“Then, when the lights are switched on, over £1million worth of the most dazzling and spectacular lights are lit up all round the centre – signalling the official start of the Christmas season here at the centre.”
