THOUSANDS of people will be on two wheels tomorrow for Sky Ride Manchester – but motorists are being warned to expect delays.
Cyclists will be taking advantage of traffic-free streets to take in some of Manchester, Trafford and Salford’s iconic buildings and areas on Sunday July 10.
The 10km route is open between 10am – 4pm and riders can join anytime, anywhere to cycle a small part or all of the route.
As Sky Ride takes place on a number of roads in Trafford drivers are advised to allow for longer journey times.
Road closures will start from 6am and roads are expected to reopen from around 5pm.

Councillor Chris Paul, Cycling Champion on the TfGM Committee, said: “It’s great to have Sky Ride back in Manchester for the eighth year as it’s always a great day out with people experiencing the freedom of traffic-free streets.
"It would be wonderful if we had regular car free Sundays in Manchester city centre as New York, Bogota or Reykjavik have, but for now this is a great taste of what's possible.
“We’ve got big cycling ambitions for Greater Manchester and as well as building a network of green and largely segregated cycle routes we like events like this showing how fun, easy and healthy cycling can be.”
