SHOPPERS are being invited to enjoy a day of free, royal-themed fun when Stretford Mall celebrates the Queen’s 90th birthday on June 10.

The centre will be hosting a trio of tea parties giving visitors three opportunities to join the fun. There will be 30 seats available at each sitting, 10am, 12pm and 2pm, and a whole host of other activities taking place throughout the day including a pop-up exhibit, a kids crafting area and a book of celebration. All of the food and drink at the tea party will be provided by the soon-to-open retailer, Aldi.

A pop-up exhibit showcasing residents’ royal collections and items provided by visitors to the centre will also be unveiled as part of the celebrations, giving shoppers a chance to see a range of memorabilia that has been collected by fans of Her Majesty and the Royal family over the years.

There will also be a craft area for children to perfect their crown and sceptre making skills. Visitors to the centre will have the chance to send their best wishes to Her Majesty by signing a book of celebration.

Stretford Mall centre manager, Gareth Wilkins, said he was looking forward to celebrating the Queen’s 90th birthday in style. “We can’t wait for the tea party,” said Gareth. “We wanted to make sure we put on a celebration that Her Majesty would be proud of. Stretford Mall is set to be a sea of red, white and blue. I’m certain that everyone that visits the centre will have a brilliant time as we celebrate the Queen’s special day.”
