A MAJOR cycling event is coming to Trafford.

SPIN, the Cycling Festival, which will be held at the Victoria Warehouse, next to Manchester United Football Ground, will be packed with cycling buffs.

It will take place on Friday, May 6, from 5pm to 8pm and on Saturday and Sunday May 7 and 8, from 10am to 5pm.

One hundred cycling brands will be on display including, not only brands such as Cinelli, Bromton and Boardman, but also independent companies like Shand, Pure Fix and Hiplok.

Accessories such as East Lancashire-based Carradice bags will be on sale as will cycling fashion from Meame.

Organisers also promise that there’ll be everything from test tracks and frame buildings to art installations and bike film premieres, and that the atmosphere will be lively thanks to D.Js and live music.

Cyclists can exchange experiences while enjoying street food and craft beer pop-ups.

Cup North, cupnorth.co.uk, will introduce a taste of their annual coffee festival featuring a wide variety of coffee beans.

Alex Daw, show director for organisers, Mercury Events, said: “The SPIN Cycling Festival offers an alternative to the traditional trade show."

Chris Bird, chief executive of sponsors Sports Tour International, owners of the Club La Santa UK, Freewheel Holidays and Wheel2Wheel Holiday brands, said: "We look forward to seeing the cycling community come together for this inaugural urban event.”
