THE Robin Hood in Stretford is all set to launch its new flagship comedy night - and it is starting off with a bang.

It will be headlined by Phoenix Nights star Archie Kelly, who played habitual liar Kenny Senior.

Archie endeared himself to the nation in his role by telling of his past 'exploits' such as getting paint for Jackie Chan. The night has been named 'Robin Hood and his Merriment' and is expected to be a fixture within Stretford's thriving community.

Organiser Tom Short said: "I am excited to be at the heart of this venture and hope it becomes something for all those in Stretford to be able to look forward to and date mark in their calendars as 'must see'. "

The comedy night is just one of several new ventures within the Robin Hood since landlady Eileen Farrell took over the reins in 2014.

The comedy nights commence on April 28.Tickets to see Archie Kelly along with 3 other top circuit acts can be purchased in the pub or online at skiddle for £8.
