HEALTH inspectors have said a Trafford GP practice 'requires improvement'.

The Care Quality Commission (CQC) carried out checks at North Trafford Group Practice as part of its programme of inspections of all England's GP practices.

The practice was given 'good' ratings in the general service areas of 'effective', 'caring' and 'responsive'.

But it was deemed as needing improvement when it was classed for 'safe' and 'well-led'.

It was also rated as 'requires improvement' in the specific services provided for older people; those with long term conditions; families, children and young people; working age people; vulnerable people; and people with poor mental health.

Professor Steve Field, chief inspector of General Practice at CQC, said: “Patients should be able to expect high quality and consistent care from every GP practice.

"Where we have required improvement, we will expect the practice to take the necessary steps to address the issue, and we will return at a later date to check that those improvements have been made.”

North Trafford Group Practice is located at Chester Road, Stretford and Seymour Grove Old Trafford and cares for about 10,000 patients.
