STRETFORD and Urmston MP Kate Green showed her support for Cold Homes Week in Parliament by wrapping up in a special hand-knitted scarf.
The scarf is one of hundreds knitted by supporters of the Energy Bill Revolution campaign to mark the event.
Cold Homes Week is a series of events which took place between February 3 and 7, focussing attention on the shocking state of many of the UK’s homes, and the terrible effect they have on the people left shivering inside them.
Ms Green said: “I was really pleased to show my support for Cold Homes Week in Parliament.
“It’s really shocking that 2.2 million children live in fuel poverty and so many people in my constituency have to choose between heating and eating.”
Ed Matthew, director of the Energy Bill Revolution, said: “We welcome Kate’s support for the Energy Bill Revolution.”
