LONG-serving councillor Kathy Bullock's two decade tenure in the town hall is drawing to a close - but she insists she will remain immersed in community actiiviites.

Kathy has been deselected as the Conservative candidate for the Brooklands (Trafford) ward for the election on May 3.

She was first elected in 1992 as councillor for the Broadheath ward and later became the member for Brooklands (Trafford).

Kathy said: "It has been a great honour for me to serve as a councillor for both Broadheath and Brooklands for the past 20 years.

"I take many proud and happy memories with me.

"Although I will no longer be a councillor, that does not mean I shall stoop caring about people - and I intend to continue working in the community."

She is a supporter of Trafford Crossroads and the Stroke Association, president of Ashton and Sale History Society, a long-standing governor of Sale Grammar School and a burgess of Altrincham Court Leet.

She added: "I did not intend stepping down, but have been deselected by Wythenshawe and Sale East Conservative Association and Brooklands (Trafford) ward committee."
