A SALE resident is in the running for a top award in recognition of her efforts to help children with autism get a good night's sleep.

Chris Hoyle, has made the final of the Laing and Buisson’s Independent Specialist Care Awards in the ‘special education’ category.

It is for her work at the Together Trust’s Inscape House School, developing sleep clinics for children with autism spectrum conditions.

Two in three children with an autism spectrum condition experience sleep problems.

The specialists at the sleep clinics work with families to identify the possible causes of bedtime challenges and develop programmes with them to improve sleeping patterns.

Chris will find out whether she has been successful in her category when she attends the specialist care awards in London on March 15.
