A SALE-BASED author has successfully predicted the future in his latest novel.

41-year-old Bryn Lucas, born and brought up in South Manchester, started work on the first draft of the thriller “Entropy” six years ago, but soon found that events in the story had a tendency to become true in the real world.

He said: “It was uncanny.

"I tried to ground the narrative in the technological, political and economic trends that I saw at the times, but I wasn’t expecting the events to so closely parallel reality - The European migrant crisis, Donald Trump’s wall and the Russian invasion of Crimea were all reflected in the writing of the book prior to their real life occurrence.

"It meant I spent a lot of time rewriting completed sections. I lived in fear of the nightly news bulletins.

"I just worry that some of the more extreme predictions in the book may yet come true as well.”

Entropy is set in 2048 and follows a civil servant as he happens upon chicanery and intrigue at the heart of the British Government.

Online, reviews have said the novel is "almost too-close-for-comfort" and "begs for a sequel." Another reader said: "Loved it. Gripping and suspenseful."

The novel is available in e-book and print formats from online booksellers.
