SALE-based creative group Two by Two Hurrah has given a helping hand to another community venture in the town.

Two by Two Hurrah has given a donation to a art and craft and jewellery shop that opened recently at Coppice Library.

The Library is managed by BlueSci who provide wellbeing services across Trafford. The library has had a recent refurbishment, with new rooms, study areas, a nursery and many other services as well as the traditional library provision.

One of the volunteers at Coppice Library is Naomi Walker who has volunteered with BluSci for many years after turning to them for support during some hard times.

Naomi felt like BlueSci had saved her life, and part of that was giving her the opportunity to volunteer and get herself back into the community.

Since volunteering at the library, Naomi met new friends and found a common interest in design and craft with others in the community.

Naomi’s background is in fashion technology and she used tis experience to set up her new shop, Brass Ring Cooperative, inside the library. The shop sells Naomi’s hand kitted products, art and craft work as well as jewellery, cards and craft made by other designers.

Two by Two Hurrah coordinated the Sale Art Zoo project last summer which saw 38 fibre glass life size animals take to the streets of Sale.

Once the exhibition closed a couple of the animals were sold. Two by Two decided to donate £100 from the sale of George Lion to BlueSci to Naomi to help set up her shop.

Two by Two director Zoe Taylor said: “It has been an absolute pleasure to meet Naomi and hear about her new venture.

"She is a very talented and brave young lady. Talking to her reminded me of struggles I have faced in the past and it meant so much to me to be able to help her with our donation. I am keen to keep in touch with Naomi and continue to support her however I can.”
