THE inaugural function under new management at Ashton on Mersey Cricket Club allowed staff from Nisa the opportunity for well-earned post Christmas fun.
About 100 staff and guests attended from half a dozen of the local grocery and retail shops.
Akash Patel provided the link as his uncle and aunt own many of these independent outlets and he is a first team cricketer at the club.
Also in attendance were Akash’s parents who own the Cost Cutter outlet on Glebelands Road, Sale.
Cricketing colleague Josh Knowles was there to manage the event with his mother Jennifer.
Jennifer said: “The function room is brighter and the extension to the bar lounge has really opened the place up, with a fantastic outlook onto the Mersey Valley Corridor.”
