THE congregation at St. Peter’s Church in Hale has recently raised more than £3,000.00 for Sale-based disability charity Stockdales.

The church chose to support the long established charity through its annual Harvest Festival Appeal, which every year promotes awareness and celebrates vital work in the community.

Keith Neal, a church warden at St Peter’s, said: “Supporting Stockdales has been a real learning experience for us.

"The care given to those with learning disabilities is incredible, and it was wonderful to see their whole-hearted enjoyment of the Christmas party.”

Emma Morris, chief executive at Stockdales, said: “We are delighted to have the support of St. Peter’s Church. The amount the parishioners have raised is just fantastic and we cannot thank them enough.

"This amazing sum of money helped us to put on our annual Christmas party for our service users at the Cresta Court. We were very pleased to welcome some of the congregation to this special event, so they could see how the money raised would be directly helping the people we support.”
