WOULD-BE burglars were rumbled by homeowners in Sale and Hale earlier this week.

On Tuesday December 6, a daylight attempted burglary took place in Highfield Road, in Hale.

Three would-be intruders made their way to the rear of a house at around 2.15pm and snapped off the patio handle attempting to break in. They were disturbed by a person inside the house and fled.

The second separate incident took place in Clough Avenue, Sale, on Wednesday December 7.

At around 6.50pm, an offender climbed onto the roof of a flat and tried to climb through a first floor bedroom window. The homeowner heard a noise and the offender ran off.

Police are asking resident to ensure all windows are kept closed and secured.

A GMP Trafford South spokesperson said: “Please look out for your neighbours properties, use your house alarms if you have one and set timer lights for the evening.”

Anyone who witnesses suspicious behaviour should report it to police on 101 or ring Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
