A MASKED robber threw ‘petrol’ in a bookmaker’s face and threatened to set him on fire if he didn’t hand over cash last night.
At around 8.30pm on Tuesday November 1, a onesie-wearing man wearing a Guy Fawkes ‘Vendetta’ style mask walked into Betfred bookmakers in Sale.
The man walked to the back of the store and waited for a staff member to open the door to the security counter.
When the worker opened the door, the robber pounced, forcing his way behind the desk and spraying liquid in the worker’s face and t-shirt.
The robber produced a cigarette lighter, telling him the liquid was petrol, and threatened to set him alight if he didn’t hand over cash.
Fearing for his life, the victim conceded and the robber fled with a substantial amount of money.
The man is described as white and was wearing a grey onesie.
An investigation is underway and enquiries are on-going. If you have any information, please report to 101 or anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
