A COUPLE who met at a Sale youth club have celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary.
Diamond couple Frank and Stella Millner have been together for 66 years, since meeting at a youth club at Worthington Road School in Sale, when Stella was 15 and Frank was 17.
They married six years later at St Joseph’s Church, in Hope Road, Sale on October 6, 1956, when Stella was 21 and Frank was 23.
The couple have three daughters, five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren with a fourth arriving later this year.
Frank completed two years' National Service in the RAF and, after that, he worked as a mechanical engineer at a garage and then at Kellogg's in Trafford Park.
After raising their children, Stella worked for many years as a school secretary at local schools.
Stella believes that the secret to their successful marriage is because Frank has always done as he’s told!
Frank, 83, and Stella, 81, celebrated ahead of their big day with afternoon tea as they took a river cruise. On the day of the anniversary they were visited at home by family and friends.
