SALE-based charity Stockdales will be donning fancy dress costumes for a muddy trip around Sale Water Park this weekend.

The Big Push event will see staff and service users at Stockdales take on a 5k challenge at Sale Water Park on Saturday September 24.

The idea came from long standing employee, Lorraine Palmer.

Support worker Lorraine said, “I’ve worked at Stockdales for almost eight years. We work round the clock to make sure people are cared for and have a great life. The idea came about because I wanted to help Stockdales and our work. I thought it would be a fun way for us to raise much needed funds and get staff, service users and their friends and families involved too.”

Natalie James, fundraising manager, said: “Big thanks to Lorraine for the idea. It’s sure to be a great day and a wonderful way to get the people we support involved in a sponsored challenge. The event is called the Big Push because several of the participants will be wheelchair users, so 5k will certainly be a challenging distance for our ‘pushers’. Keep your fingers crossed for good weather for us and support us if you can.”
