AN elderly woman has been left heartbroken after her wedding and engagement rings from her late husband that she has treasured for almost 50 years slipped off and got lost in Sale – can you help reunite them?

Sue Breen has gone down every avenue to try and find the rings that her mum Ann Dyson, 73, lost whilst in the town yesterday and she is hoping readers can help in her search.

The rings were of great sentimental value to Ann as her husband Roy, who she would be married to for 50 years this September, died just over two months ago.

Ann thinks she may have lost the rings on The Avenue, in Sale, or on the No. 245 Arriva bus, which travels from the Trafford Centre to Altrincham.

“I’ve tried the police station and the bus company and now I'm hoping for a miracle,” said Sue. “My dad only passed away at the end of April and the reason the rings fell off is due to all the weight she's lost during this hard time.

“My mum has just found out this morning that is isn't insured just to top it. Not that money could replace it anyway. Can life get harder?”
