A SALE woman who died in a speedboat crash while on holiday was remembered by her friends and neighbours at a street party.

Monica O'Conor, 28, and three other people died when a huge wave capsized their boat in Thailand last month.

She was in the thoughts of residents from Cranston Drive, Sale, when they braved the rain to throw a street party to celebrate the Queen's 90th birthday on Sunday.

Resident Rhea Pearse said: "Residents, friends and people from the community came together despite the weather to enjoy homemade food, games and even pavement art to celebrate the life of one of our residents, Monica O'Connor, who sadly died last month while on honeymoon.

"The evening ended on musical high note with members of the Timperley Folk Club playing for some lucky residents until late."
