A HISTORIC working narrowboat had some unusual – and precious – cargo on the Bridgewater Canal last week – a blushing bride.
Sarah East and Darren Seddon tied the knot at Sale Town hall on Saturday May 21 and held their reception at the nearby Sale Cruising Club.
In keeping with their reception venue, the couple opted for waterborne wedding transport and Longford Canal Services' 80-year-old working narrowboat, Ariel, put aside her usual cargo of coal and diesel to ferry the bride to and from the town hall.
The boat was spruced up with decorations supplied by Linnet's Circus.
The weather held back long enough to keep the boat's precious cargo dry, and the cruising club gave it's all to ensure the wedding guests enjoyed their time.
Linnet's Circus, Longford Canal Services and Sale Cruising Club all join together in wishing all the best to Mrs and Mrs Seddon.
