SALE Brass Band bagged three prizes at the .Buxton Brass Band Festival organised by the North West Area Brass Band Association.

The band scored the impressive hat-trick at the event on May 8.

Playing A Malvern Suite, by Philip Sparke, the band took home an award for best bass section, the highest placed North West band and second prize overall.

As well as the three nice pieces of silverware, it also received £250.

Alan Seymour, the band's musical director, said: '"The band played the piece the best it ever had and we are proud of what we achieved."

You can catch Sale Brass in a concert celebrating the queen's 90th Birthday as part of the Sale Festival on Saturday June 11at Sale Waterside.

The band will be joined by special guests the De Voci Women's Choir and local Euphonium star, James McLeod.

The show starts at 7.30pm and tickets are £8 (£6 concessions), available from Sale Waterside.
