A FIRE broke out in a Sale takeaway this morning.
Firefighters were called to reports of a blaze at Pepper On Indian takeaway, on Washway Road, at 8.22am on Friday April 15.
The occupier of the flat above the takeaway fled their home and raised the alarm. Police cordoned off the area to pedestrians and the ambulance service also attended the scene.
Firefighters used two breathing kits, hose reel, foam extinguishers to get the fire under control and a fan to clear smoke from the premises.
Crews were at the scene for around an hour. The owner of the takeaway has been contacted.
