'INDIE weddings have nothing to do with India', joked Ellie Softley who is organising an indie wedding fair.
It will take place at Ashton Hall Equestrian Centre, Church Lane, Ashton-on-Mersey on Saturday, April 9 from 10.30.
She explained that indie, as well as reflecting popular culture, was short for independent which the 50 small businesses taking part will be.
The 30-year-old events manager, who runs Soft Touch Events, said: “The fair will host photographers, designers, crafters, foodies and flower growers as well as bespoke dresses, specialist lighting hire and others.
"They will be housed in five giant tipis, which will be available for hire at the farm for weddings and wedding parties
“I decided to create the event after noting a lack of inspiration for rustic and outdoor wedding fairs.
“We are located opposite the picturesque church of St. Martin’s who are putting on a table top sale at the same time on the same day.”
Admission to the fair is £4.
