THE Friends of Coppice Library group has celebrated the success of its recent photography competition, which proved extremely popular.

The theme was ‘Street life’, and more than 30 entries competed for the top prizes.

Chris Boyes, from Sale Photographic Society, judged the entries, and the winner was Robert Greenbank for his entry: ‘Man on a Mission’.

Sumay Dasgupta won the junior prize for his photograph entitled: ‘Tesco’.

The Mayor of Trafford, Cllr John Holden, presented the award.

He said: “I didn’t envy the judge’s job, given the superb standard of entries that the Friends of Coppice Library received. However, I was delighted to present the winners and runners-up with their awards, and congratulate Diane Leytham and the Friends of the Coppice Library both for this well-received competition, and their continued efforts to promote our super local library here in Ashton-on-Mersey.”
