AN efit of a woman who sparked a stranger danger alert after trying to coax a schoolboy into her car in Sale has been released.

Sale High School reported an incident of stranger trying to persuade get a child into her car in Sale to police on Thursday November 5.

The 12-year-old boy was on his way to school when he was approached by a woman in a silver car at the junction of Chepstow Avenue and Firsway in Sale.

The woman posed as a friend of the boy’s mother and claimed his mum had sent her to pick him up.

The woman, who was a complete stranger to the boy, drove a silver car and is described as a slim, white, with black hair and aged between 35 and 40.

The boy refused to get in the car and instead ran home. Police immediately stepped up patrols in the area and launched an investigation. They have now released an e-fit of the woman who they wish to talk to in relation to the incident.

Police Constable Geoff Donley said: “We have been making significant enquiries over the past two and a half months to try and identify the woman involved in this incident, which has included trawling through a large amount of CCTV in the area.

“We understand that parents in Sale were extremely worried by this incident and we are committed to finding out exactly what happened here and tracing the woman from the silver car.

“Our CCTV enquiries have led us to believe that the car involved could have been either a Vauxhall Corsa or a Nissan Micra.

“It is possible that this may have been a case of mistaken identity and the woman in the car approached the wrong child, however we still cannot rule anything out at this stage. We are asking for anyone who has any information to please get in touch.”
