KINGSLEY Healthcare Limited has become the latest business to sign the Trafford Pledge, committing to supporting the Partington community.

Since the launch of the Trafford Pledge, over 730 jobs have been created.

The Pledge matches businesses committed to offering employment support through local jobs, apprenticeships, work experience or mentoring, with unemployed local people trying to enter the employment market, and its success is growing as more businesses pledge their support.

Kingsley Healthcare's Four Oaks Care Home, which opened in Partington on August 1, will provide 62 residential luxury nursing and dementia care beds, specialising in dementia care.

Its work with the council, National Careers Service and Your Housing Group has seen it so far support 30 people into employment. This figure is due to grow to at least 60, to meet the staffing needs of the new care home.

More than 80 per cent of the new staff live in Partington.

Trafford Council's Executive Member for Economic Growth, Environment and Infrastructure, Cllr John Reilly, said: "It is fantastic to see yet another key company signing up to the Trafford Pledge.

"The Pledge is a true partnership, with agencies, businesses and the local community working together to create, develop and sustain new employment opportunities and also support people to make sure they have the necessary skills to secure employment. It is a tangible demonstration of the council’s commitment to playing a key role in improving the employment opportunities available to local people.

"Kingsley Healthcare's new facility is a fantastic addition to the Partington area and will provide not only specialist care and support for vulnerable people, but also afford excellent employment opportunities for people in the local area. "

Debbie Cank, operations manager for Four Oaks, said: “Trafford Council has assisted us in our recruitment of local people which has been invaluable.

“They include an apprentice administrator and a wide range of staff from domestics and housekeepers to support workers and maintenance people.

"The new recruits included young people who have never had a job before.

“We have many more good applications and will be taking on extra staff via this route as we gradually take more residents into the home.

“It’s wonderful to see that local people were clearly tremendously proud that a company like Kingsley had become involved in their community.”

Faye Weekes, a new member of staff, said: “I heard about the home from my local housing group. I attended the prep interview session and was told about the roles. I then attended an interview with Kingsley where they made me feel very relaxed as this was my very first interview. “
