A PARTINGTON foodbank gained an unexpected financial boost thanks to tardy contactors from Carrington Power Station.

A variety of contributors, including consortium partners Alstom and DF Energy, donated a £1,526.28 cheque to Trafford Assist Foodbank.

A large proportion of the donation came from a fining system implemented by the Alstom site manager, Rainer Lueoend.

Rainer said: “We have a large construction team on site from a variety of companies and multiple meetings taking place every day.

“I have always endeavoured to run a tight ship when it comes to setting up and attending meetings.

“If someone is late for a meeting then they are fined £1 per minute up to a maximum of £10, the money is collected over a period of time and donated to a worthwhile cause.

“In this case we decided to donate the money to Citizens Advice Trafford for their food bank facility that operates out of Partington.”
