MP KATE Green gave two lucky pupils the chance to take over her office as part of Children’s Commissioner’s Takeover day on November 22.
Harry Smith, 14, and Shania Perkins, 13, school councillors from Broadoak School, Partington, ran Kate’s constituency office for the day.
They shadowed Kate to meetings, sat in on her advice surgery, wrote press releases and took part in running local campaigns.
This national event is led by the Children’s Commissioner for England and gives young people the chance to get involved in decision making and offering their opinions on key issues.
Kate said: “I was really pleased to take part in the Children’s Commissioner’s Takeover day.
“Harry and Shania were a breath of fresh air and really got stuck in to the work an MP does. Both are a real asset to the school and I hope they enjoyed the day as much as we did.”
