Economics analysis specialists SQW complete report on south Manchester land

TRAFFORD Council’s leader has welcomed a report that gives an up-beat assessment on the possibility for a hi-tch business park on land between Hale and Wythenshawe.
The report, from economics analysis specialists SQW, concludes that the full vision for a ‘medipark’ could be realised at land to the south of Wythenshawe Hospital.
The scheme would be accompanied by a new 245 acre rural park also proposed by RLAM on adjacent land at Davenport Green - often described as a buffer between Hale and Wythenshawe.
Last year, Trafford Council decided to retain this area’s designation as countryside, disappointing campaigners who wanted it returned to the green belt.
Trafford Council leader Matt Colledge said of the report by SQW: “This is an excellent report which is realistic and clear about the exciting prospects for a medi-park. I think Trafford could benefit greatly from the kind of high quality development and jobs that this type of concept will attract.”
