Greater Manchester Friendship Force

THREE years ago, Christine Pidcock, from Hale, the secretary of the Greater Manchester Friendship Force, the organisation whose members visit families in other countries, went to Kenya.

Because the Greater Manchester group were not planning to visit Africa, she joined up with Cornwall Friendship Force who were going there.

In Kenya she made friends not only with Christine Cartlidge from Cornwall but also, Dorothy Fowler from Newcastle-on-Tyne and Janet Gow from Herfordshire who had also joined the African trip.

On April 17, the three met up with 20 members from the Greater Manchester group at a party at Christine’s home in Ollerbarrow Road.

“Friendship Force leads to lots of friendships not just abroad, said Christine.

In October, the Greater Manchester group will travel to Mexico.
