IT might only be February - but Hale business leaders are already turning their attention to ensuring Hale's Christmas lights will be shining brightly this year.

Hale Business Association (HBA) has launched a festive campaign - ‘Love Hale this Christmas' - through which businesses or individuals can each sponsor one of 15 baubles for £1000 each.

Two years ago, funding for the village's festive decoration was withdrawn by Trafford Council which has meant that the Hale Business Association has had to raise the funds.

Last year fundraising proved increasingly difficult, and so the association has wasted no time in kickstarting its Christmas strategy for 2017.

HBA representative Penny English said: "We all love Hale and really want it to shine especially at Christmas. Many local people don’t realise the Christmas lights must now be funded locally.

"We have taken this decision early as we really do need to plan ahead.

"We are aware that many businesses plan their marketing campaigns at the beginning of the year and therefore we very much hope that some will consider coming on board.

"Individuals or families are also welcome to sponsor a bauble. The 15 sponsors will each receive exposure throughout the year and thanks for their generosity in ensuring that Hale shines this Christmas."

Barbara Hallwood, managing director of Hale-based Marketing Profile, added, ‘We are delighted to be working with HBA on this exciting initiative.

"It really is a great opportunity for businesses to get involved, or indeed individuals or families.

"You do not need to have a business in Hale to be a sponsor – you just have to want to see the village shine.

"Throughout the year, the sponsors will receive branding exposure – a great way to promote their business and to really support the village." * For further information or to sponsor a bauble contact: barbara@marketingprofile.co.uk, mobile: 07939 905412 or email Penny English at halebusinessassociation@gmail.com
