AN exhibition in Hale to be held over the few days around Remembrance Sunday, will reveal the experiences and contribution of a selection of local people and give a taste of what it was like to live through the Second World War, both at home and on active service.

Alongside the biographies are tin hats, gas masks and recipes for war time cakes and biscuits. It has been compiled over many months by members of Altrincham United Reform Church with the help of Altrincham and Hale residents.

Children from Stamford Park School have created models especially for the exhibition and will be paying a visit to find out more.

It runs from today, Thursday 10th, until Monday, November 14 at Trinity Hale Church, on the corner of Ashley and Cecil Roads.

There is an afternoon tea party on Saturday 12th between 2.30 and 4.30. For further opening times go to www.altrinchamurc.org.uk or see the leaflet. Entry is free.
