SUNRISE of Hale Barns threw open its doors on Care Home Open Day.

The Mayor, Cllr Judith Lloyd, and branches of the Alzheimer’s Society, the Guide Dog Association, the Stroke Association, Cyril Flynn Charity, Parkinson Society and Age UK attended.

Everyone was treated to an afternoon of 'Jazz in the Garden', featuring a barbecue.

June 17 was Care Home Open Day, where care homes up and down the country got the chance to show off to the public the treats and activities they regularly put on for their residents.

Ashleigh Lynch, activities and volunteer co-ordinator at Sunrise of Hale Barns, said: "The day was a wonderful success. It was a real community event bringing everyone together at Sunrise of Hale Barns to celebrate a really special day, and the atmosphere was just brilliant.

“We were delighted all our guests, including the Mayor of Trafford could join us to celebrate the great work that care homes, including Sunrise, do every day.

"It is the Sunrise way to involve friends, family and members of the local area and this event paid tribute to that. Everyone is always welcome to attend the regular events at Sunrise of Hale Barns, our door is always open."
