TRAFFORD residents are celebrating the Queen's birthday in style.

On Sunday, June 12, the All Aboard Hale street festival will once again be held in the village from 12 noon to 4.30 pm - and as it is the Queen’s 90th birthday, the event wilL be a right royal knees up.

This year, as part of the theme of the fun event, organisers are asking businesses and groups to make a royal scarecrow.

Businesses should design and make a scarecrow, give it a name - and bring it along to the event for judging, at 2.45pm on the stage.

After the event, scarecrows will be placed around the village for a scarecrow trail, for national Civic Day on June 18.

The Wednesday Club in Flixton enjoyed a right royal celebration on June 8.
The social group for over-60s enjoyed a special buffet, bingo and raffle to celebrate the Queen's 90th birthday.
The celebration held at Shawe Hall Community Centre in Flixton also marked the group's first anniversary.
It meets at the community centre every week.
