LANCASHIRE Lightning all-rounder Liam Livingstone and several players from Kia Super League side Lancashire Thunder will be at Bowdon Cricket Club on Thursday evening to help launch the Thunder and Lightning Roadshow.

The Thunder and Lightning Roadshow will visit more than 50 schools and junior cricket clubs in the region to encourage children and their families to visit Emirates Old Trafford for a summer of live cricket, live music and fun entertainment for all the family.

The Roadshow features the AO.com inflatable bowling game which allows participants to test their bowling technique, accuracy and speed against family and friends. There is also the NatWest T20 Blast Trophy, so families can have their pictures taken with it, plus appearances from Lancashire Lightning and Lancashire Thunder players at certain events.

Livingstone, who played a key role in Lightning’s NatWest T20 Blast success last season and recently scored his maiden first class century, will be on hand at Bowdon CC this Thursday evening from 6pm alongside Thunder players to offer tips and advice to budding young cricketers and to sign autographs and pose for pictures.

Children under the age of 18 will be given a golden ticket at each event which enables them free entry when accompanied by one full paying adult to the Lancashire Lightning v Derbyshire Falcons match on May 21 (2:30pm start) and the Lancashire Thunder v Yorkshire Diamonds encounter on Friday August 12 (6pm) start, both at Emirates Old Trafford.

Parents will need to follow the steps on the back of the Golden Ticket which will direct them to special Golden Ticket webpage where they need to fill in a few details.

Lancashire County Cricket Club’s head of marketing, Hollie Costigan, said: “The Thunder and Lightning Roadshow will see us visit over 50 locations throughout Lancashire this summer.

“We will be bringing a little bit of the fantastic Emirates Old Trafford experience where we visit to encourage children and their families to come to the ground this summer to experience live cricket, live music and fun entertainment for all the family.

“As well as Lancashire Lightning defending our NatWest T20 Blast title and Lancashire Thunder taking part in the inaugural Kia Super League, we’re also hosting some great international cricket when England take on Pakistan in an Investec Test match starting on July 22 and a one-off NatWest International T20 match on September 7.

“Our renowned Foster’s Fan Village, which will showcase some live music, will once again be on site allowing everybody to have wonderful time and make their day out at Emirates Old Trafford a memorable one.

“We hope as many children as possible take up our golden ticket offer so they can roar Lightning and Thunder on to victory.”
