MEMBERS of the Trafford Law Society raised an impressive £2,000 for children’s cancer research at their ball.

More than100 guests attended the recent event, with a proportion of the ticket price and a fundraising raffle helping to raise money for the Bowdon-based children’s cancer research charity, Friends of Rosie.

Anne Irwin, a Friends of Rosie trustee, said: “We’re delighted with the donation from the Trafford Law Society and thank all those who attended the ball for digging deep on the night for local children’s cancer research.

"We are just about to open the application process for this year’s research funding programme and so this donation will help to fund vital research over the coming two years.”

Sarah Amatiello, president of the Trafford Law Society, added: “This year’s Trafford Law Society Ball was a great success and even better that we could use the occasion to raise money for such a worthy cause. Our thanks go to our members who attended and contributed on the night.”
