BROWNFIELD expert, McAuliffe Group, recently enlisted Sale Sharks’ Magnus Lund and Peter Stringer to support Sky Sports TV presenter, Dave Clark, in his effort to raise £20,000 for Parkinson’s UK.

The Hale-based business hosted a sportsman’s dinner with the two rugby stars, giving guests the opportunity to quiz them on their illustrious careers and gain exclusive insight into the Six Nations competition. Questioning was led by TV comedian and sports enthusiast, Jed Stone.

Guests took the opportunity to show their support for Dave Clark, who is taking part in a 200 mile coast to coast walk to fundraise for Parkinson’s UK. Over £800 was raised on the night.

The appearance, held at The Albert Square Chop House on Wednesday evening, was part of a wider sponsorship deal that McAuliffe holds with Sale Sharks. The company has sponsored Magnus Lund and Peter Stringer for the 2015/16 rugby season, as part of its commitment to supporting regional sport.

John McAuliffe, managing director of McAuliffe Group, said: “The dinner was a brilliant way to hear from two of the region’s most talented rugby players whilst supporting my friend, Dave Clark. Dave has Parkinson’s and to be taking on a 200 mile walk is incredible – we support him all the way.

“We thank Magnus and Peter for taking the time to attend our event and hope Sale Sharks continues its highly successful season and a top finish.”

McAuliffe transforms brownfield sites for future development. The family-run business provides its UK-wide customers with services including soil and groundwater remediation, materials management, ground improvement and demolition offerings.
